MORE DETAILS

The inaugural MIIMS conference will be a virtual event for 2021. The conference features a number of speaking slots for abstract presenters and is aimed at trainees including undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars.

MIIMS is an interdisciplinary interest group for researchers in the broad fields of metabolism, immunity, and/or inflammation. The focus is on researchers at institutions in the Mid-South region and adjacent areas, primarily including Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, as well as Alabama, Missouri, and Kentucky.

Trainees and faculty are encouraged to submit abstracts for talk consideration. Both short talk (~15 min) and lightning talk (~ 5 min) speaking slots will be available. Trainee abstracts will be considered for small awards.

ABSTRACTS

Abstracts should be no more than 200 words. Please utilize the template when preparing your abstract, as this will facilitate collation for the abstract booklet.

The organizing committee will select abstracts for short talks and lightning talks. If you have a preference, please indicate it in your submission email. We hope to accommodate as many preferences as possible, but we cannot guarantee that all abstracts will receive speaking slots, or their preferred type of presentation.

Abstracts should be submitted to bdpence@memphis.edu by March 31st, 2021 at 5:00 PM Central Daylight Time.
